Your Child’s Snack

Please provide your child with a small healthy snack and a drink. We usually recommend finger food, such as sandwiches, crisps, and fruits (please pre-prepare fruit if necessary) and a carton of juice/milk or a bottle of water. Please note that we do not allow any nuts or products containing nuts (e.g. peanut butter, nutella, snackbars, etc.) due to the possibility of another child having an allergy. Please note that we also do not allow pork products.

Nappies

Please supply your own nappies, wipes and cream which we will store in the bathroom with your child’s name on it. If your child is in the process of being potty-trained, we are happy to assist in any way we can. We also recommend that you supply a change of clothes, which may be permanently stored in your child’s cubby incase your child has an accident.

Personal Belongings

Please ensure that each item of your child’s clothing and their personal belongings (bags, lunch boxes, etc.) are clearly labeled with their full name. While we understand that some children may need to bring in a familiar toy/blanket when they start school, once they are settled, we do try to discourage them from bringing their own toys to school. These toys can be difficult to locate at the end of a busy morning and could be distressing for children if they get lost or broken. Please do not send your child to nursery wearing any valuable or expensive clothing. The children can sometimes get messy whilst at nursery and we would not want their beautiful clothes to be damaged. With the children playing, running around etc. sometimes items can become lost. In this case we ask parents to please not send their child to nursery wearing any jewelry.

Sickness

Understandably, children who are unwell should not be brought to school, but it is possible for a child to become ill while they are at school. In these circumstances, the parents would be informed immediately and asked to collect their child. In the unlikely event of a serious accident/development, the parents would be informed immediately and the child would be taken to the nearest hospital (Bahrain Defence Force Hospital – BDF).
